On Legacy customer accounts, Customer Fields can add an edit account page to your storefront, where signed-in customers update their name, email and any other fields on your form.
On Shopify's Customer Accounts, customers edit their details in their account instead. See Collect customer information in Shopify's Customer Accounts.
Edit account page
The page lives at /tools/customr/edit-account by default.
Edit account link
Customer Fields also adds an Edit account link to your theme's /account page. Each theme is different, so where the link appears can vary.
Steps to enable
Use a storefront form with Account options set to Default, and copy its form ID.
Open the theme editor. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes > Customize, or click Launch theme editor on the form's Installation tab.
Open App embeds > Customer Fields. Under Legacy customer forms, paste the form ID into Edit account form ID.
Optionally, change Edit account link text, Edit account page heading and Edit account 'back' link text.
Click Save.
See Customer Fields app embed for more on the app embed.
If your sign-up form requires account approval
The edit account page needs a form set to Default. If your sign-up form uses Require account approval, duplicate it from the Forms page. Then set the copy's Account options to Default on its Settings tab, and use the copy's form ID. See Account options.
Passwords
Customers can't change their password on the edit account page, because Shopify doesn't let apps change passwords. To give signed-in customers a way to reset it, turn on Display password reset link in the form's Settings tab. It sends them Shopify's password reset email. See Form settings.
Stop customers changing a field
To stop customers changing an answer once they've given it, like a birthday, turn on Lock value in the field's settings. Customers can still fill in the field if it's empty.
For a repeating group, use Lock entries on the group instead. You can't lock a single field inside a repeating group.
